FAQ Title: How large are the program downloads
Event Details:
Many people have asked me how large does ones hard drive have to be to download BBC iplayer programs.

Well, how long is a peaice of string? Each 1 hour portion of a program or film is around 600mb. So lets say for instance at amy one tme you have 10 programmes that you have downloaded and need to watch. This equates to around 6GB not to be all things considered.

However, I recently went to France and took my laptop. Knowing that I was on my own in France I set about downloading about 40 programmes that I hadnt had the time to watch.

The combined download was around 36GB so watch out!
FAQ Title: What if I don't run Micrsoft Windows, can I still download BBC programmes?
Event Details:

The file sharing and digital rights management (DRM) technology we use is only compatible with Windows XP and Vista. We are aware of demand to expand this to other operating systems, please check at a later date for any further news.

Streaming works on any computer that can run the latest version of Flash and all programmes available to download should also be available to stream as Click to Play, although technical issues may occasionally mean that this is not the case.
