MacbookPro Intel procesor

Mac OSX 10.5.2 using Safari 3.1.

I done a speed test 10 mins ago: Upload 291 kbps, download 489 kbps.

Watching a programme on iplayer and the streaming is so bad I get 6 seconds of play before it has to catch up with itself.

Can anyone out there help me improve this?

This doesn't seem to be a very fast line. The iPlayer recommendation is 512 Kbps.

The other thing to say is your ISP might be throttling your connection speed. Who is your ISP? A lot of them will provide a poor service during the day.... 8am-midnight is usual, and you will get a 'stuttering' service during those times.

You could try: replacing any long cables between your input socket and the computer; replacing the filters on your phone line; asking your ISP to check the line (better than asking BT as they will charge).
